Let’s put to rest both premises that Harry Reid is using to try to push illegal aliens amnesty down the very unwilling throats of the American people.
First the “college issue.”
Reid and the democrats would have us believe that illegal alliens attending college is some sort of an achievement for which we Americans have to thankful . Well maybe attending college was once an achievement, today however,not so much. Obama is living evidence of that and he attended IV league schools. Reality is that anyone with a High School Degree – and we all know how easy those are to come by these days- can attend a “junior college” Even if that individual can’t read or write better than a fifth grade level , as is the case with so many of our high School grads, that individual will be accepted to college and be placed in “remedial courses” and will receive the Harry Reid citizenship award. All in all this exercise whose result will be that we’ll have, at best, slightly better educated burger flippers will cost us, the American taxpayer, billions of dollars. Said money will be dolled out by the now government owned Student Loan Administration. Translation, more money from your pocket to the socialist government bureaucrats and Marxist junior college teachers, who, by the way, make a lot more money than you.
Second, the “Military issue”.
Reid and the democrats would have you believe that these illegal immigrants , the vast majority Hispanic, can’t wait to join the armed forces. What a bunch of hog wash! The statistics show the exact opposite and we’ll get to that in a minute but first let’s address the morality or lack there off that this issue presents. Projecting their own cowardice and hatred for the armed forces the left thinks that most Americans are like themselves. They think that the the armed forces are populated by poor uneducated minorities who have no other option. They think this because they lack the courage, gallantry, spirit of adventure, dedication and selflessness that military men and women so evidently and brilliantly display. The question for us as Americas is this: how is it moral to have a military made up of foreigners desperate to become like us fight and die for us? If we as a country cannot and will not stand up and fight our own wars how can we hope to survive as nation? Fortunately the liberals are, as always, dead wrong! In spite of the non stop liberal propaganda our military has exceeded the recruitment quotas for most of the duration of this war. Even in the hardest of time the marines, for example , never had recruitment issues. To paraphrase a Marine Comandant , America’s youth has never failed to fulfill the country’s most sanguine demands!
The minority youth on the other hand has been sadly lacking in either patriotic sentiment, or courage or sense of duty or whatever.. Reality is that while during peace time the ranks of the US Army is overflowing with minorities that hasn’t been the case in wartime. One can argue that minorities “did not want to participate in a unpopular war” , that’s certainly the argument brought up buy racists such as Geraldo Rivera. That argument is rendered invalid.
EurWeb.com notes that “Even in 2003, when there was overwhelming support for the war among the rest of the nation, African American support never rose above 44 percent in any major poll“ That translated to an incredible almost 50% drop in enlistment for blacks “In the Army, the branch of the military traditionally favored by Blacks, the percentage of Black enlistees has dropped from 23 percent before the war to just 12.4 percent today.” ( the link at eurweb.com has been damaged and the article is nowhere to be found but if you click on the link and patiently scroll trough the code you ‘ll see quotes)
The exhaustive study conducted by the Heritage Foundation also shows that in this latest war effort Hispanics were also sadly and pitifully underrepresented. “ Hispanics are largely underrepresented among new recruits, with troop-to-population ratios of 0.64 in 2006 and 0.65 in 2007.”
The numbers get more revealing when we look at the combat MOS (military occupational specialty). The combat MOS-es the guys who go out and “close with and destroy the enemy” are comprised almost exclusively over 98% by Christian whites and it only goes higher from there.
Harry Reid’s despicable attempt to provide back door amnesty has nothing to do with the defense of our country, like most of his entire career and probably his entire life, that is a bold face lie! It is a way to get him votes, it is a way to steal more of your money to give it to teacher’s unions and it is a way to further advance the agenda of populating the United States with people who Reid believes will be easier to dupe into socialist slavery.
