Today Ted Cruz voted against Trade Promotion Authority, TPA, and is bragging about it! Lest we forget he voted for it. Not only voted for it, but lobbied for it, co-wrote a column supporting it, and gave interviews to promote it!
He claims that he “changed his mind” because:
1- “Wiki leaks released a portion of the Trade in Services agreement that explicitly contemplates changing immigration laws”; and
2- “the back room Washington deals that were cut on the Export Import Bank to reauthorize hundreds of billions of dollars to help giant corporations as the price for TPA”.
To believe any of this you’d have to be stupid enough to vote for Obama, or Cruz or, well, you have to be as stupid as Ted Cruz.
WHILE PROMOTING TPA TED CRUZ ADMITTED TO HAVING READ IT AND CHASTISED CONSERVATIVES FOR “SPREADING MISINFORMATION”
Well, if he said he read it, we have to ask: can’t he read? Is reading not a requirement to attend Harvard Law School anymore? Senator Jeff Sessions trumpeted that immigration policy is part and parcel of TPA on every and any news outlet that would have him. Every conservative news outlet, Breitbart.com especially, stated that TPA includes immigration policy! Ted Cruz said that he had read the TPA and that it didn’t have any immigration policy in it. Maybe that portion of TPA was not illustrated with stick figures.
The second point that Cruz says convinced him to vote against TPA is that there are hundreds of billions of dollars allocated to the corporate welfare known as the Import-Export Bank. He claims he knew nothing about that? Again, every conservative outlet out there mentioned this and oddly enough a great many left wing ones mentioned it also. Not only that, but this was so secret that there were television commercials run on all major networks in support of the Import Export Bank. I guess all that was way too subtle for Ted Cruz.
So why did Ted Cruz vote for TPA before he voted against it?
Cherchez la femme! Ted Cruz’s wife is a MANAGING F-ing DIRECTOR at Goldman Sachs and they stand to get billions in fees from deals done with the help and funding of the Import Export Bank. Yeah I’m sure that had nothing to do with it. It was simply that Ted Cruz wasn’t aware of those icky things hidden in the TPA.
So why did Ted vote against the TPA after lobbying so hard for it?
Because there were already enough votes to pass it, so his vote against it meant nothing! So why not vote against it now when it is meaningless and then try to look like a hero. That’s been the GOP modus operandi for the past 6 years. They huff and puff and grandstand when it’s meaningless and do nothing but stick their nose, neck deep, up Obama’s butt when it counts. Ted Cruz is no different
If this traitor, Ted Cruz, actually was so aghast when he found out that TPA contained immigration policy or when he found out that TPA contained hundreds of billions of our money for the Import Export Bank why didn’t he sound the alarm? Why didn’t he even try to organize an opposition?
Did I miss his bull shi8 Green Eggs and Ham reading on the Senate floor to filibuster the vote against TPP? Did he denounce Paul Ryan or Mitch McConnell or John Boehner or any of the GOP leadership for -as Cruz de facto alleges – committing fraud against the American people? Yeah right!
None of this happened because Ted Cruiz is a POS traitor…and he’s not eligible to be President, anyway.
