Sources tell us that Obama is about to deliver a brand new speech.
Already the buzz is that it will be a speech to rival the best speeches ever given. Gibbs let it be known that they aiming to surpass notjust Reagan but even the Gettysburg address.
When asked to give us a snippet, Gibbs quoted “we few we happy few, we band of brothers“. After the White House Press core stopped gushing a lone intern mentioned that he did hear that somewhere else. Gibbs quickly responded,” of course you did, its part of our subconscious. That’s Obama at his best, subconsciously.”
Chris Matthews quickly jumped up and averred, yelling in jubilation, “Obama’s tingle is running down my leg, he touched me subconsciously in places I like most!” Christian Amanpor said that she too can’t wait to have her subconscious touched by Obama. Not to be outdone Brian Williams and Katie Couric started speaking and tongues. The former fainted while he tried to bow and the latter found herself standing in a puddle.
Many hours later when the clapping and dancing and hooting stopped, worn out press corps members were told the scope of the speech.
The speech is aimed at Eastern Europe and it is believed that this will be the speech that has ended communism. Gibbs said that the polls practically guarantee that communism will have ended because the speech that Obama will soon give.
The White House press corps seemed incredulous saying that they don’t believe it is possible for communism to fail and that if indeed the USSR will fall, they themselves will take up the flame. On behalf of Obama, Mr Gibbs blessed them.
They then broke into a spontaneous chorus of the International. (Charles Gibbson couldn’t wait to show of his lovely mezzo-soprano )
