WOW! The first New York City tea party was a small event organized by die hard pioneers. It had a sort of conspiratorial entre nous type of atmosphere. I’ll miss it, but that’s OK because this second edition was a block buster!
Its not easy to estimate the number in attendance because the allotted area was soon filled and the crowd spilled over across Park Pl. ( Broadway) and and stretched from Barclay’s to Chambers. I heard a FOX news producer say that there may have been as many as 10,000 but I can’t confirm it. I never had a vantage point from whew I could see the entire mass of people but its safe to say that there was a minimum of 4000 people there at all times and maybe another 2000 coming in and out. Lets not count decimal points here lets just enjoy the great success of this movement and lets keep the flame alive!
