I was planning on not writing a post on the AIG hearings circus because everyone else on the planet is doing it.
However as I sit here and indulge whatever masochistic tendencies I might have by watching it all over again on Tivo I changed my mind. The utter stupidity of some of the congressmen involved is truly monumental and I am really afraid that it might be a harbinger of very bad things to come for my beloved country.
Liddy was hired to unwind the staggering number of CSS positions that made up the AIG portfolio. He says that they accomplished most of that and they are done with it. If any of the lightweight congressmen who tried to question him think that they could do better …oh never mind,
Why the hell are these people grilling Liddy?
We know now that Obama is the one who lobbied to allow the damn retention bonuses!

Chris Dodd claims that he tried to prohibit the retention bonuses but that the Obama administration made him change it. OK, I’ll buy that Dodd is a weak limp wristed charlatan whe bends as the wind blows but why didn’t he tell anyone about this?
